Lab Associate | School of the Environment, and Agriculture and Food Sustainability
About
Born and raised in Italy, Lorenzo then moved to the Netherlands, where he graduated in biology and environmental sciences at University College Utrecht (Bachelor's) and later Leiden University (Master's). After short-term stints back in Italy and later in Denmark, Lorenzo is now a PhD candidate in Prof. Bryan Fry's lab at UQ, where he studies the evolution of venom in vipers and its impact on anti-venom efficacy.
As part of Wildlife Conservation Lab, Lorenzo will assist in habitat and population surveys of the threatened Grey snake (Hemiaspis damelii) and Five-clawed worm skink (Anomalopus mackayi) in southeastern Queensland.

Lorenzo's Favourite Animal
Dice snake (Natrix tessellata), the first I ever caught and grew up with as a kid.
Controversial Opinion
Australian snakes are no more special than any other country's.
